#StickYourNeckOutStories - Hailey Rae Stewart
We’ve been so lucky to be a part of an industry where we’ve met so many strong western women. Stick Your Neck Out Stories is a series showcasing women in the western industry that have really gone for it, taken risks, stuck their neck out, and embody everything Fringe Scarves is all about.

Meet Hailey Rae Stewart
I was born and raised in rural southern Alberta, where my family has a horse training facility. When I was a young girl my mom got me started with my own little business selling wild rags! So, I’ve had a silk scarf around my neck for most of my life! I think I’ve always been an advocate for the western industry before I knew what that was! I was in 4-H as a kid as well as High School Rodeo. Both of those associations had a huge impact on my character and my dedication to the western industry.

Why is the western industry important to you?
For me this industry is so important because the western industry isn’t only about providing product for consumers but also conservation of the land, respect for livestock and wildlife, the value of hard work and family. I think the western industry has so much to offer across all its facets and it is important to teach the next generation as well as people outside of our industry the “why”
How do you want to be remembered?
I think I’d like to be remembered as someone who was welcoming and kind, someone who stood up for others and someone who left a horse better than where I found them.
What's Your "Stick Your Neck Out" story?
Most recently, I stuck my neck out when I agreed to cohost the pre and post shows for the Heart of the Horse Colt Starting competition. Being on stage in front of people with a microphone speaking to the judges, competitors, breeder and founders was way out of my comfort zone! But I was instantly glad I agreed to the opportunity and proved to myself that I could do it!
How did you find Fringe Scarves?
I first saw the beautiful patterns of Fringe Scarves on Instagram and fell in love immediately! I was honored to be on a panel with Jodi at Art of the Cowgirl, where I got to listen to her story and where she talked about her inspiration for her designs and being an entrepreneur in the western industry. It was inspiring to hear from such an amazing business woman and cowgirl!
