We’ve been so lucky to be a part of an industry where we’ve met so many strong western women. Stick Your Neck Out Stories is a series showcasing women in the western industry that have really gone for it, taken risks, stuck their neck out, and embody everything Fringe Scarves is all about.
Jena Knowles is a cattlewoman, horsewoman, business woman, mother to a wild soon to be toddler and wife to PRCA bulldogger Trevor Knowles. On top of all the hats she wears, she advocates for the beef industry, shares her western fashion inspiration, and keeps us laughing with her hysterical cow bios!

What led to you becoming a Western advocate and influencer?
I grew up on a cattle ranch in Nevada, took off for college and thought I’d never go back to the ranch life...until a cowboy came along. I met Trevor, we travelled the country for years to hundreds of pro rodeos and now we are enjoying the quiet, simple life on our ranch in eastern Oregon with a wild little 1-year old girl.
Being and advocate for the western industry has come natural to me since I was raised in this lifestyle. I’ve never known any different than to defend and protect what we work so hard for every day.
I’ll give my husband credit for becoming a western influencer. No one cared about my outfits or my life before we started dating (HAHA)! I started off by sharing my outfits on the rodeo trail with him, then grew into sharing our travels, his rodeo successes, everyday life, marriage, and now our family. I love that so many people have stuck with me over the years and find my life interesting to follow along with.
Why is the western industry important to you?
I was raised in the western lifestyle, and I’ve seen how hard the generations in my family before me have worked for it. It’s so much more than just riding horses through the mountains gathering cows. It’s providing beef products to our COUNTRY! The cattle we produce and sell may end up in Texas, and the beef might just be in your Whataburger, or at your local grocery store! I think that is so cool!
How do you want to be remembered?
I think I’d like people to remember me as someone who is honest, kind, and funny! I’d love to be remembered as making a positive impact on people’s lives, and heck, if that’s by bringing a smile to their face, that’s good enough for me! People remember you by the way you make the feel.
What's Your "Stick Your Neck Out" story?
The day after I graduated from Boise State I applied for a marketing job that was wayyyy beyond my knowledge or skills. I had zero experience. I stuck my neck out, landed the job, and grew so much over the few years i held that position before moving to Oregon to be with Trevor. I don’t think I’d have the job I have today (PR Director for a hospital) if it weren’t for taking a chance and believing in myself to land that first big girl job fresh out of college.

How did you find Fringe Scarves?
When Fringe Scarves first came out they caught my eye immediately! I believe I saw them on social media. The designs are so unique, they are incredibly well made, and they are so much more than just something to keep your neck warm. They are a year-round staple in my wardrobe for both fashion as well as function on the ranch.
